Obtain Charles River Laboratories Test Article Submission Form.  You may download it or pick up the form at the Skirball Animal Facility office, located on the Ground Floor of Skirball Institute, ext. 35310.

Prepare Sample

Sample Requirements
For cells, a minimum of one vial containing 1 ml (5x10 6cells/ml).
For fluids, a minimum of on vial containing 4 ml.

Please call Charles River customer service department if you have any questions regarding sample preparation or submission.

Fill out middle section of Charles River Laboratories Test Article Submission Form only. do not make marks in other areas. Complete one form for each test article submitted. Please fax an additional copy to the Skirball Animal Facility at ext. 38235.

Prepare Shipment

You must call Charles River Customer Service to alert them when samples are being shipped via overnight courier.  Samples received without notification will be refused by Charles River.

Samples must be shipped frozen, on dry ice via overnight courier. Sufficient dry ice should be added to allow delays in transit.

A Test Article Submission Form must accompany each sample. Download the form in [ pdf ]. Please make sure you perform the comprehensive test panel on your samples. Seal shipping container and prepare for shipping. Address to Charles River Laboratories.

Ship samples Federal Express overnight. An IOI (Interdepartmental Office Invoice) is required by the mailroom.

Parcels must be delivered to the mailroom before 3:00 p.m. for overnight delivery.

Results and Notification

Test completion takes eight weeks.  Do not call Charles River Laboratories regarding your samples.  Final results will be forwarded to you upon receipt Once you have the test results, please forward a copy to the facility supervisor for DLAR records.
