The Administrative Core provides leadership and administrative support for the Superfund Program Project. The leadership is provided through External and Internal Advisory Committees, with Dr. Max Costa as Principal Investigator of the Superfund Program Project. The administrative staff consists of Ms. Lynda Witte, Business Manager, and Ms. Dawn Gray, Project Assistant.
The Government Liaison unit of this Administrative Core is co-directed by Drs. Dominic DiToro (Manhattan College) and George Thurston (NYU). Drs. DiToro and Thurston facilitate the dissemination of scientific results of the research projects to the scientific personnel of EPA Region 2 involved in the agency´s Superfund program. To assist in coordinating and carrying out these activities, a search has been made and interviews are taking place to identify a Government Liaison Coordinator.
The overall organizational structure of the NYU Superfund Program Project is illustrated below.
Providing further direction to the Program Project is the External Advisory Committee. This Committee provides a forum for senior leaders from other institutions to offer guidance to the Program Project investigators concerning the adequacy and appropriateness of the administration and the long range goals and objectives of the Project.
