Buildings & Grounds

Buildings and Grounds is a part of the Environmental Services Department.  The employees of Buildings and Grounds have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the Medical Center grounds and mechanical equipment rooms,

  • Operate the Hospital compactor,

  • Transport mail and supplies to Sterling Forest and Washington Square facilities,

  • Conduct office and equipment relocation within the Medical Center,

  • Transport, sort and dispose all regulated medical waste and solid waste.

Contract Services is a part of Buildings and Grounds as well.  Contract Services has the following responsibilities:

  • Basic cleaning and janitorial services for the School of Medicine facilities,

  • Specific request for cleaning, including carpet cleaning, floor resurfacing, drapery cleaning,

  • Pest Control.

If the services of the buildings and grounds employees or contract services employees is requested, please contact Environmental Services at Ext. 35159.
