This year, the Infectious Diseases Society of America gave a total of five fellowship awards to support research conducted by Fellows in Infectious Diseases, and two of the five were awarded to NYU Fellows.
Elizabeth Miller, M.D., was awarded the Wyeth Young Investigator Award in Vaccine Development, for her work on use of dendritic cell vaccines against HIV.
Elizabeth's work is being conducted with the mentorship of Nina Bhardwaj, M.D., Ph.D.
Ulrike Buchwald, M.D., was awarded the Merle A. Sande/Pfizer Fellowship Award in International Infectious Diseases, to support work mentored by Martin Ota, M.D., Ph.D., at the MRC Laboratories in The Gambia.
