The NYU Division of Rheumatology has a long and illustrious track record in the study and treatment of rheumatic diseases and in the mentoring and training of leaders in the field of rheumatology. The division's outstanding Fellowship Training Program is based in Tisch Hospital, Bellevue Hospital Center, Veterans Affairs Hospital, and the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute, with principal investigator laboratories at each institution.
Other training sites include the Center for Osteoporosis and the new Seligman Center for Advanced Therapeutics, which in addition to serving as a central training site for fellows interested in clinical research, provides a focus for current and ongoing projects involving Institutional Review Board-approved tissue banking and genomics. The Division also inaugurated the Psoriatic Arthritis Center at Tisch Hospital in February 2003.
