Tasha Newman, MS, RN
Nurse Clinician, 12 West Neurosurgery
Tasha Newman began working at NYU Medical center in November 2002. Her clinical decision-making skills were commendable and she quickly advanced up the clinical ladder to become a Nurse Clinician, specializing in the critical care of the neurosurgical patient. She is a skillful and compassionate clinician who delivers phenomenal nursing care.
In addition to patient care, Ms Newman worked collaboratively with peers to develop care guidelines for patients undergoing anterior cervical spine surgery and often orients new nurses to the neurosurgical unit.
Ms. Newman, who holds a degree in Biology, received her BSN from the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, Hunter College of the City University of New York in June 2002 and her MS degree in Nursing from NYU College of Nursing in May 2008. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Nursing at New York University. She is also an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. In May 2007, the NYU Hospitals Center Departments of Nursing awarded Ms. Newman with The Wayne E. Hirschkorn Memorial Scholarship Award!
