NYUHC Radiology Nursing

Radiology Department is comprised of 6 Interventional Suites, 4 Diagnostic Rooms, 3 CT Scans, 4 MRI Scanners, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. Specialties include:

  • Neurointerventional Procedures
    • AVM (arterial venous malformations)
    • Aneurysms
    • Stroke Intervention (embolizing with collagen, coils, & glue)
    • WADA testing (pre-surgical brain mapping for epilepsy patients)
  • Vascular Interventional Procedures
    • Hepatic Chemoembolization
    • Uterine Fibroid Embolization
    • TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portal system shunting)
    • Vascular Access (mediports, permacath, PICC line insertions
  • MRI
    • Diagnostic studies
    • Neurosurgical pre and post surgical scanning of adults and children
    • Diagnostic cardiac congenital anomaly studies
  • CT Procedures
    • Cryoablations
    • Radiofrequency ablations
    • Biopsies
    • Diagnostic Scans

We look for these qualities in our radiology nurses:

  • Previous Radiology and/or Critical Care experience preferred
  • Experience with moderate sedation and IV insertion
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to positively communicate and interact with all members of the Radiology health care team
