The NYU Human Genetics Program provides genetic evaluation, counseling, and screening services to couples before and during a pregnancy, as well as to adults and parents of children with suspected genetic diseases or susceptibilities.

Medical Genetics Evaluation
A genetics evaluation can identify and guide treatment of childhood and adult disorders, whether hereditary or not.

Reproductive Genetic Counseling
Genetic counseling can identify a cause for an abnormality, and help determine your chances to conceive a normal baby.

Carrier Testing
In the past, people learned about their risk for having affected children only after the child was born. Through genetic testing, it is possible to identify people whose children may be at increased risk.
