Committee members, also known as SPC advisors, are responsible
for following and enhancing the educational progress of candidates.
The SPC advisor also serves as the communication channel between
each candidate and the Institute. Every candidate is assigned his/her
own SPC advisor, with whom he or she works closely. Committee members
are faculty who have shown particular interest in working with candidates
around the complex educational tasks and life issues they face in
their analytic training. The progress of each candidate is carefully
reviewed once or twice yearly at meetings of the SPC Committee.
At these meetings, the SPC advisor conveys what he/she has learned
from class instructors and supervisors and in individual meetings
with the candidate. Discussion ensues and recommendations are made
by the SPC to the Education Committee, where further discussion
takes place. The SPC advisor is then able to bring back comments
and recommendations made in these committee meetings to the candidate.
