The primary activities of this committee involve coordinating the teaching and supervision of analytic ideas to medical students and residents, as well as serving as a liaison between the NYU Psychoanalytic Institute and NYU Medical Center. The committee relies on the NYUPI Faculty to assist them in providing teaching, supervision, mentoring, running of process groups and offering consultation in the Residency Training Program in Psychiatry at NYU; interviewing applicants for the residency and serving on all committees in the program; offering an elective in Psychoanalytic Medicine for fourth-year medical students, as well a preceptoring and other teaching for students at NYU School of Medicine; and conducting open houses for residents on psychoanalytic training.
