As our knowledge expands the traditional boundaries between
psychiatry and neurology are breaking down. The need for interdisciplinary
research and researchers with interdisciplinary understanding of
psychiatric and neurological disorders is expanding every year.
A wide range of research in clinical psychiatry, neurology, and
the fundamental neurosciences takes place at NYU and affiliated
programs and residents in the Psychiatry-Neurology joint program
are expected to participate in some research activity during the
course of their residency training.
