Approximately 1200 new patients are helped annually in Radiation Oncology by direct referral, and additional patients are seen at various interdepartmental conferences.

Each patient's case is discussed by the entire senior staff during daily quality assurance (QA) meetings to ensure that every patient receives only the highest quality care.

Experimental or Non-Experimental Therapy: Our Patients' Choice

The Department maintains dedicated faculty who are experts in cancer care and conduct clinical trials that directly benefit the lives of cancer patients. When appropriate, our patients are offered entry into national and institutional protocols that have been strictly reviewed beforehand by ethics committees (Institutional Review Boards) to assure patients’ rights. The philosophy of the Department is patient-centered, ensuring that the patient is active in the decision making of his or her own care. We take great pride in our provision of meticulous care for all our patients, and support their choice of either experimental or non-experimental care.
