How You Can Help
Overview Overview
Founded in 1948 by the pioneering physician Dr. Howard A. Rusk, the
Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine was the world’s first
facility devoted entirely to rehabilitation medicine. Today, as an integral
part of the NYU Hospitals Center, Rusk remains the world’s largest
university-based center for the treatment of adults and children with
disabilities, as well as for research and training in rehabilitation
medicine.
For eleven consecutive years, Rusk has been ranked the region’s top rehabilitation facility by U.S. News & World Report.
