The Enid A. Haupt Glass Garden complex serves an important restorative function
for patients, their visitors and hospital staff as a place to escape the
rigors of clinical life. The Garden is also where patients work with trained
horticultural therapists to rehabilitate physical and cognitive functions
and to gain a sense of personal accomplishment, productivity and self-reliance.
Classes for children and adults are available to both in- and out-patients
and to community groups. Individuals propagate plants, arrange flowers, and
engage in nature craft projects as a means to enhance their convalescence.
The scope of therapeutic work is encompassed in the following programs:
Horticultural Therapy for Adults
Programs for Children
