Hand Therapy Unit
The Hand Therapy Unit at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine provides comprehensive treatment for a variety of ailments associated with the hand and upper body. It is staffed by licensed Physical and Occupational therapists who specialize in the treatment of the hand and upper extremity disorders.
The Hand Therapy Unit specializes in:
fractures
traumatic injuries
tendonitis
sports injuries
work-related injuries
repetitive stress injuries
carpal tunnel syndrome
tendon and nerve repairs
arthritis
The goal of the Hand Therapy Unit at the Rusk Institute is to provide
comprehensive treatment to our clients by maximizing one's upper extremity
function within the shortest timeframe.
Treatment includes, but is not limited to:
- in depth upper extremity assessment
- customized orthotic fabrication
- therapeutic modalities (i.e., electrical stimulation, ultrasound)
- post- operative management
- ergonomic workstation evaluation
