little girl with physical therapistEvaluation and Treatment

The program provides general physical therapy evaluations as well as specialized evaluations. We perform specialized equipment evaluations for adaptive bicycles, standers, specialty walkers, and gait trainers upon physician referral. Our experienced therapists also perform orthotic management and evaluations. Threshold Electrical Stimulation (TES) evaluations are done by a certified TES physical therapist.

Physical Therapy intervention includes:

• Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT)
• Orthotic evaluations and temporary fabrication
• Post-botox or baclofen pump therapy
• Aquatic therapy
• Biomechanical and orthopedic assessment for neurologically involved patients
• Kinesiotaping and taping to increase desired muscle activation and strengthening
• Myofascial and manual techniques
• Strength training
• Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
• Motor learning
• Sensory integration treatment (SI)
• Balance evaluation and training
• Functional training
• Community re-entry trials

We take a strong neurologic and orthopedic approach with the evaluation and treatment of each child. Our goal is to help develop each child to his or her fullest potential to participate in meaningful life occupations such as play and self-care, as well as activities in school, home, and the community.
