Sackler Ph.D. students are required to submit a Rotation Research Report
at the completion of each rotation. The Report provides a brief (2 to
3 pages, double-spaced) summary of your research activities, and contains the
following elements:
- Title of project and name of research advisor.
- Introduction . In a paragraph or so, provide
general background information on your research topic, and indicate the specific
question(s) addressed during your rotation.
- Results . The section should provide a short
summary of the significant data that you achieved during your rotation, and
include mention of the general methodology that you employed. You do NOT need
to include the actual data in the report.
- Discussion . Succinctly summarize the significance
of your findings. Indicate possible implications of the work, and suggest
future experimental directions.
Starting with the Spring í04 semester, research rotations will be
graded on a pass/fail basis. Timely submission of the research reports
will be the sole criteria for receiving a passing grade. The research
reports must be submitted within two weeks of the completion of the rotation
to Ms. Lisabeth Greene in the Sackler Office.
