The graduate program in Pharmacology offers multidisciplinary training
in molecular pharmacology and neurobiology. The program is designed for a
select group of students with strong backgrounds in biology, chemistry or
the physical sciences. An individually tailored program of study is designed
for each student, specific to his or her undergraduate background and research
interests. Throughout the program, students participate actively in research
seminars, a journal club in which graduate students present their own research
as well as that from the current literature and laboratory group meetings.
The Program is composed of 25 full-time members, a number of whom hold joint
appointments in clinical departments, and whose research interests vary.
Thesis rsearch can be done in receptor pharmacology, mechanisms of signal
transduction, cellular and developmental neurobiology, oncogenes, neurochemistry
and neuropharmacology.
