NYU has acquired subscriptions to the following databases of funding opportunities for use by investigators across the institution. Each contains millions of dollars of funding across a broad spectrum of areas and funding sources. Each provides a number of options for searching and locating funding sources relevant to a particular investigator.
-
InfoEd
SPIN
SPIN is a searchable database provided by
InfoEd, which provides SPA's internal grants database as well.
Investigators can search this database using full Boolian searches,
including keywords.
Another feature of this database, SMARTS,
allows PIs to set up or modify their Genius (another InfoEd tool
maintained by SPA) profile to receive scheduled e-mails with funding
opportunities relevant to their profiles. For assistance in setting
up a custom search for weekly emails, please contact your SPA
representative.
-
Community
of Science
Community of Science is a web-based database
containing over $33 billion in funding opportunities, hosted by
the Medical Library here at NYUSOM. Community of Science has similar
tools to those offered by SPIN, including the ability to receive
regular emails with funding opportunities that match your search
parameters. Please visit http://library.med.nyu.edu/library/services/esform.html
to make your request. A librarian will contact you for follow-up
questions. If you would like to leave a voice mail request instead,
please call 263-8483 and someone will contact you within 24 hours.

TRAM
TRAM is a service initially developed by
the Texas Research Administrators Group (TRAM). It is a service
site designed to meet the needs of researchers and research administrators
at institutions of Higher Education. TRAM does not provide financial
support. It contains a search engine for locating funding opportunities
from many different agencies. The funding information is updated
daily. TRAM also contains a set of grant application forms collected
from various sources, as well as standard agreements for subcontracts,
non-disclosures, licenses, and links to other servers related
to research funding and administration.
-
Grants.gov
Grants.gov provides organizations with the
ability to search for Federal government-wide grant opportunities.
Users can also sign up to receive e-mails on select grant opportunities
or just browse through the selection.
-
GrantsNet
A searchable, continuously updated, database
of funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education.
It contains programs that offer training and research funding
for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior
faculty, as well as programs in science, math, engineering, and
technology for undergraduate faculty and students. Special tools
and resources will help you customize your search to quickly find
the information you need, keep you up to date with the latest
trends in research and education funding, and give you the inside
scoop on how to write winning grant applications. Membership is
free.
The following are links to the funding resources
pages located on other institution's websites. Many of the tools
will be similar to those above (SPIN and COS should be accessed
through NYU), but often have additional information and opportunities
that might be of interest.
