Tools
SPIN
is a searchable database provided by InfoEd, which provides SPA's
internal grants database as well. Investigators can search this
database using full Boolean searches, including keywords.

another feature of the InfoEd database, allows PIs to set up or
modify their Genius (another InfoEd tool maintained by SPA) profile
to receive scheduled e-mails with funding opportunities relevant
to their profiles.

NIH
The National Institutes of Health announced
a change in the time deadline for all electronic grant applications
submitted through Grants.gov to no later than 5:00 PM local
time of the applicant institution or organization.
This change is effective with submissions
starting April 1, 2006. It does not apply to the March
22, 2006 S10 submissions. The notice announcing the change is posted

Berlex Foundation
The Berlex Junior Faculty Development Workshop
is announcing an opportunity to participate in a week-long intensive
workshop concentrating on epidemiology. The objective of the program
is to refine participants' understanding of the research and publication
process, assist them in their own research efforts, and enhance
their teaching skills. The workshop includes didactic presentations,
study groups, and hands-on exercises with computer analysis programs.
Candidates must be within 5 years of faculty appointment within
a department of obstetrics and gynecology and must have a demonstrated
interest in academic medicine. The award covers travel expenses,
lodging, meals, syllabus, and textbooks.

Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation
Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF)
is proud to announce support for basic science research. Grants
for the 2006 cycle will be in the amount of $150,000 to be awarded
over a two-year period. Grants will be for basic laboratory research
on pediatric brain and CNS tumors. Submission of a Pre-application
Form is required. Funding is currently restricted to Principal Investigators
at institutions within the United States and Canada.

The Institute for Research on Pathological
Gambling and Related Disorders is pleased to announce the availability
