Hand Surgery Fellowship

Hand Surgery fellowship is for two fellows and is a one year structured program of academic studies and clinical experience, exposing the fellows to all major areas of hand surgery as defined by the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

There are three basic service rotations in addition to an elective period. These include a rotation on the Hand Service of the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center, a rotation on the Upper Extremity service in the department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Mt. Sinai Medical center, and a rotation as the fellow on the Bellevue Hospital Hand Service, New York City’s upper extremity trauma center. The program also includes a funded one-month elective period to pursue special interests or research. Fellows gain experience in the treatment of congenital anomalies, brachial plexus injuries, vascular insufficiencies, and complex fractures of the upper extremity.
