Surgeon Wins Transplant Organization's Triangle Award

Lewis W. Teperman, MD, FACS, Director of Transplantation and Associate Professor of Surgery at NYU School of Medicine, was honored this fall at the 7th Annual Manhattan Triangle Awards Dinner, sponsored by the Manhattan Chapter of Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO). TRIO is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for transplant candidates, donors, recipients, and their families. This international resource serves its members through activities in the areas of awareness, support, education, and advocacy. Each year, TRIO presents its Triangle Award to a real-life trio: a donor family, a recipient, and a healthcare professional in the field of transplantation.

A leader in his field, Dr. Teperman has been named president-elect of the New York Organ Donor Network and serves on a number of influential local and national boards and committees. Wlth NYU's patient and graft survival rates among the highest in the nation, he proudly accepted the Triangle Award on behalf of the entire Transplant Surgery Division.
